The marketing department at Sparks Health System and Summit Medical Center took home a handful of Diamond Awards from the Arkansas Hospital Association’s 83rd Annual Meeting and Trade Show. The annual banquet honors work done by marketing and public relations professionals in healthcare.
The hospital’s “Sparkles” newsletter earned a First Place Diamond Award in the Publication-Internal category. “Sparkles” contains news about the hospital, its employees and community impact each month and is distributed around Sparks.
Summit Medical Center’s print advertising efforts for its Sandwich Seminars also earned the team two first place Diamond Awards. They were also recognized in the Writing category with a Diamond Award for an article on the hospital’s trauma designation.

Sparks and Summit are among 19 hospitals across the state to receive Diamond Awards this year. Judging for each entry was based on goals, audience, format, frequency, results and total budget. The awards banquet was held Oct. 10 at the Little Rock Marriot.
For nearly 80 years, the Arkansas Hospital Association has worked for the betterment of hospitals by instituting programs in education, government relations, research and communication.The competition was co-sponsored by the Arkansas Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations.
