Sparks Health System is dedicated to your family having a positive childbirth experience. Part of this experience includes learning more about pregnancy and the childbirth process. Experienced Family Center Nurses provide Childbirth Education for you and your support person prior to your delivery experience.
This class covers pregnancy topics such as changes during pregnancy, nutrition, how to know when you are in labor, delivery (vaginal and cesarean), pain relief options (medications, positioning, counter pressure, birthing balls, squatting bars), and what to bring to the hospital. We also cover postpartum issues: self-care, basic newborn care, rest/relaxation, and bonding. Our experienced instructors will use a variety of teaching strategies such as videos and discussion - while encouraging question and answer opportunities throughout your learning experience.
A tour of the Family Center is also included during this session. Lunch will be provided.
