FORT SMITH, Ark. (Oct. 1, 2012) – The Sparks Woman’s Board is hoping handbags spur some generous giving during the organization’s fall fundraising event.
The members of the Sparks Woman’s Board are inviting shoppers to discover “What’s in the Bag?” at their silent purse auction. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 3 in the Shuffield Education Center on the first floor of Sparks Regional Medical Center. Complete purse packages will be up for bids and other items will be available for purchase.
All funds raised during the event will go toward providing free valet parking for patients and guests of Sparks Regional Medical Center.
Founded in 1888, the Sparks Woman’s Board is the longest-running volunteer organization in the state of Arkansas. The group also operates the This ‘n’ That Thrift Shoppe on Dodson Ave. in Fort Smith to help fund valet parking and other philanthropic efforts at the medical center.
Sparks has been caring for our community for 125 years, since becoming the state’s first hospital.
