FORT SMITH, AR (April 19, 2013) – Sparks Health System is pleased to announce our Chief Financial Officer has been promoted to a position with our parent company, Health Management Associates Inc.
Richard Boone is now overseeing Operations/Finance for the Southern and Western Group of Health Management facilities. This new role includes financial oversight of 26 hospitals in seven states, including Sparks Regional Medical Center and its sister hospital Summit Medical Center in Van Buren, Ark. The promotion was effective April 15.
Boone has nearly 25 years of experience serving in various positions in the healthcare arena. He has served as the CFO for Sparks Health System for the past year. Previous to that, he served as an Associate Administrator at Sparks.
Boone earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
A search is currently underway for a new CFO for Sparks Health System.
Sparks Health System includes Sparks Regional Medical Center, Sparks Clinic (an employed multi-specialty physician group), Sparks PremierCare physician-hospital organization, Sparks Home Health and the fully hospital-integrated Marvin Altman Fitness Center.
